Grove Press: Small Fry by Lisa Brennan-Jobs

A Note From Emoke

At the start of a new year, we are all wanting to come to a point where we can look to the coming of many surprising but bright ideas of what we dream of accomplishing. What are the plans that serve a good life? Why is it that the stress over political events ruins our daily calm, and what can one person do to eliminate the stress and contribute to “a” possible solution on a local level?

I am standing in two bookstores, Malaprop’s and Downtown Books And News, that daily give our readers opportunities to learn, teach and enjoy a possible future scenario. It is that simple in a way. We learn new ways, we change our minds, we open and expand our hearts, we forgive and we love each sunrise that blankets our planet.

We welcome readers young and old, and we welcome authors and poets almost daily. My most anticipated moment will be given by Amy Bloom on Feb 14th.

Amy Bloom is well known and respected in the literary circle. She has written seven important works and in her eighth, White Houses, she is presenting a historical novel that is a most magical story told by Lorena Hickok (Hick) of her friendship, loyalty and passionate love for Eleanor Roosevelt.

Amy Bloom is one of our best lights for joyful reading. Join us and celebrate a wonderful story, a great writer and be among friends who read, learn and explore.

What better way to spend Valentine's Day for those in love with books?
